Patreon Announcement
Finishing The Colorado Trail this season added fuel to a fire that’s been burning inside me for at least a decade, if not longer. Since stepping off trail, I’ve recommitted to living life on my own terms and have made a goal to buy an old van, build it out minimally, and hit the road full-time with the dogs by the time I turn 50 (2026). As a full-time independent artist, I don’t make a lot of money, so the three-year timeline offers a manageable approach to saving the money and doing the work. I’ve created a Patreon page where I’ll be sharing details of my journey toward mobile living, as well as some exclusive livestreams and behind-the-scenes looks at my adventures backpacking, car camping, and generally living a creative life outdoors with dogs.
What is Patreon?
Patreon is an online platform made for independent artists like myself who have chosen to create work for the public on our own terms rather than through the representation and financial support of an institution. It offers a way for artists to receive reliable and continuous financial compensation for our work by people who see value in it beyond the tangible. Patreon’s web and mobile app interface is designed to offer a secure virtual gathering place where we can engage with those who are most interested in what we do on a more personal level, regardless of physical location. People from across the globe who enjoy my work and support my ambitions can join my Patreon community and gain access to online discussions, livestreams, photos and videos, and more. It’s like a private social platform for artists and their most engaged supporters.
If you have questions, feel free to contact me.
Thanks, as ever, to those who find value in what I do. Any way you choose to support my work is deeply appreciated.
