Still yourself against the noise

and chaos of the world...

This, too, is courage. This, too, is bold...

When I was a kid, I'd put a notebook and pencil in a backpack, hop on a bicycle and ride out to my favorite tree at the edge of town to sit, observe, and write for hours. Almost five decades later, I'm still writing love letters to the natural world. It gives me great joy to share the peace and beauty of these places with others. I have three blogs where I write poetry, short essays, and stories about the human-canine connection. Currently I'm also working on a photo memoir about my seven-year journey on The Colorado Trail with my dogs (read more about how you can support my book project on Patreon). Don’t ever lose sight of your why.

Everyone has one. It’s what drives us to get up every morning and keep at it, no matter how hard it gets.

Love dogs?

"Dogs are how people would be if the important stuff is all that mattered to us."
